Would viewing fitted kitchens make you stay in your present house.

January 30th, 2010

With the property market showing an increase for the first time in months people may once again be considering shall i sell my house or improve it. With many still unsure how the market is going to go I thought I would look at the centre piece or heart to any home the Kitchen. Whether you have a fitted kitchen a bespoke handmade kitchen or an individually chosen number of kitchen units, the space needs to work for you.

It may appear like little things but anything that you consider doesn’t work for you should be jotted down and set aside ready for when you actually do begin kitchen planning. A kitchen when laid out correctly makes working within it a real joy rather than having the normal conflicts of not being able to lean somewhere without being in the way. By making sure that a kitchen has spaces within it that people can chill in and at the same time refining the work areas to work more intuitively can make all the difference to this most central of hubs.

Fitted kitchens should only be bought if you know that the individual selling you that particular style of kitchen knows how a kitchen should work and that some things will work and other things wont. From the cooker itself there should be a really defined working triangle that provides you room to prepare food, an area to cook the food and an area to wash and dispose of the leftovers and preparation cast off’s. Any job that you do is easier if you have the right tools to do it with, in this way you can ensure that any jobs you do in the kitchen can either be fast preps or just long extended relaxing experiences.

Personally with most fitted kitchens I have carried out any cooking in the main lack I have found with them is that they are often really difficult to negotiate around. Making it very difficult to work fluidly and in some instances safely, we have a little boy and you need an area to be safe so that any children aren’t tripped over or stood on or worse have something dropped on them. Design can always ensure that things like this don’t happen with the addition of individual areas you can make sure you have a space that can be just for eating and an area you can separate off with a simple gate to ensure you can work safely. I hope this is article is of use my name is David Harland.
