Party Games For Kids

December 14th, 2009

Planning a party for your kids’ birthday? Or planning a kitty party where you want the tiny tots not to disturb the moms? Your plans may go awry or the party may well turn into a horror if the kids run wild and out of control. Keeping children busy stops them from being a nuance. Keeping their mind in creative things, keeps the naughty ideas out of the mind. And what other way to keep children busy than to let them have fun by playing games!

Games to be played at a party should be group games and should be chosen keeping in mind the participants’ age. Party games for children should preferably include physical movements instead of intellectual stuff. It would help in making the party energetic and lively! Games which involve lots of noise or music will spread thrill in the party and children love noises! Party Games for children should be easy and everyone should be able to participate. You sure don’t want anyone in the party feel left out, do you?

While you get involved with the florist or the caterer, make sure you plan out the games too! Planning out the games ensures smooth fun and prevents any confusion. Planning ahead definitely prevents any accidents. Make sure you keep the materials required at an easy access place. Also, take care to keep a few more accessories than the number of children you have invited, lest some last minute guests should end up without accessories. Avoid asking the guests to bring stuff of their own.

To decide what kind of games to be played, think creatively! You may search the internet to make games interesting and find new games. Passing the parcel, Newspaper dance, Movie Guessing, Statue, Musical Chair, Treasure hunt are some age-old party games which are quite popular with kids. You may include craft activities like clay modeling, sand modeling etc. but please be careful about things like scissors, tools etc. Do not hand them over to the kids unsupervised. To add twist to the games you can just modify or tweak the rules here or there. Keeping rewards for the winner would surely shoot up the excitement graph! And don’t forget small consolation prices for everyone, a toffee or chocolate would do, but no one should feel sad, right?

Try not to be too strict with the rules, be chilled and let the kids have fun as they want. Trying too much to make them play your way would kill there happiness and defeat the original purpose of the activity. Let the kids open up, let them feel free and let them enjoy!

While carrying out the party games for children, you should become a kid yourself too! And why not! Childhood doesn’t come back again and again. Enjoy fully the childish stuff and feel refreshed. So have fun and make the kids have fun too! They are definitely going to love coming to your parties and you will be the most popular!
