Through dedicated training the martial artist would hope to gain mental and physical fitness. By dedicated practising and repeating all move to near perfection, over time become more and more patient. Self-confidence is attained through the power of one’sown body and the awareness of how to use it anywhere and in any situation. Sparring helps us to gain humility, courage, alertness, and also accuracy and develops self-control. By doing Taewkondo forms , we also increase our overall flexibility, grace, balance and our body co-ordination.
Through discipline and our interaction with other students, we learn co-operation and mutual respect. As well as developing a healthier, leaner and more flexible body, we also increase stamina through a typical training regime. The health-related effects of training are diverse.
Taekwondo has been going through a learning process for over several thousand years. However, it was not until the 1950s that Taekwondo was standardized and organized by General Choi Hong Hi and the martial art was brought outside of Korea, at first to Vietnam and the US, and to the rest of the world. As we speak, Taekwondo is organized in to 3 international federations: WTF,ITF and the GTFTaekwondo is now in the olympics with the first competitions held during the Sydney olympics
