I am going to visit different countries in Europe and I don’t know which will give you the best exchange rate??

Should I go to Forex in my own country to exchange currency ahead of time? Or should I use my Debit card to withdraw money at ATM machines when I arrive to that particular country?

So far I just know if you use ATM at airport is not a good idea, and bringing traveller’s cheque does not give you good rates either.

I recently relocated back to India from malta and forgot to exchange the Maltese Lira in Malta. The forex in Dubai refused to exchange the currency and in India I hear it’s next to impossible. Apart from having someone to take the money to the UK to change it, I wanted to know if there are any other alternatives?
